Coronavirus (COVID-19): latest information and advice
The UK national Coronavirus picture is changing all the time. The official up-dated information can be found by clicking on the link below:
By February 3rd 2020, the figures showed that in the UK 13,911 most-at-risk people had been tested for the virus of which 13,860 had been diagnosed negative and 51 people positive. These figures are changing day-by-day.
51 may not seem a large number but this is a virus that can spread very quickly. The Government scientists at this point are recommending measures for containment. You can keep up-to-date on the latest situation by checking on the above site. The numbers will certainly change day-by-day and so could the advice.
Our local Village Surgery has taken specific measures that we have reported. Current national medical advice to the general public can be found on 111.nhs.uk:
** cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
** put used tissues in the bin immediately
** wash your hands with soap and water often – use alcohol-based hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
** try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell
** don't touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
ADVICE WILL CHANGE – CONSULT THE WEBSITES ABOVE REGULARLY – KEEP CALM – KEEP INFORMED
