We continue to cover the mindless activities of a few within the village, of that we are sure.

You will recall that we have previously highlighted the problems relating to 'Dog Fouling', that this subject has been raised at various Parish Council Meetings (most recently on 8th May), that Sport Tattenhall has erected green coloured signage around the Flacca giving information relating to 'Dog Control Orders, and that we have advised of the possible consequences if individuals fail to follow the published guidance.

That said, it was reported at the Parish Council Meeting on Monday, that most recently there had been 3 separate incidents when members of the public, who had confronted individuals over their dogs, were then verbally abused by the dog owner. Clearly, this issue is now more menacing. The Parish Council, has advised any resident who is confronted in this way to immediately report the incident to the Police.

Failing to clear up after a pet is not only socially unacceptable but it is a known health hazard. There are other potential hazards of pet fouling in open countryside and on pasture land and Cllr Matthews reported that he had witnessed first hand this increasing problem on his own farm.

Many of you will have copies of the A41 Magazine which links the villages, people and businesses along the A41, including Tattenhall. Co-incidentally, this very problem is also raised in the May 2017 Edition p38. We quote from this document in which an individual makes reference to the unwanted gifts (dog poo) and the little black bags (whereby individuals have failed to dispose of the black bags containing the 'dog poo' in an appropriate manner).

While talking of mysteries and strange things we have found
Have you seen the black bags scattered all around
On the ground, in the hedges, even in a tree
The mentality of culprits is a worry, would you agree?

I wonder what else they do while pretending to conform
To be so underhanded is surely not the norm
Perhaps they are just stupid perhaps they're just not smart
Or maybe what are missing are values and a heart

(poem attributed to A41 Magazine, May edition)
