Heart Start Training Session Today 12th December between 2-5pm at the Studio Can you find the time to help save a life ?

Our successful 'Heartstart' training programme has been running since September 2012 during which time we have trained over 225 individuals in this potentially life saving skill, as well as raising over £1800 to fund new equipment for use in Tattenhall.

This collaborative initiative between 'Tattenhall Community First Responders' and 'The Studio' in Tattenhall provides a 3-hour workshop every 3 months, training a maximum of 14 people at a time. This style of delivery ensures that everyone is able to participate in the exercises and receive individual feedback.

Jill Raine from The Studio and Rob Selby from the Tattenhall Community First Responders have both been delighted with the response to the initiative. According to Jill 'The feedback from participants on the training has been overwhelmingly positive and it is encouraging to see so many people wanting to learn this essential skill. We would like to see everyone in our village and surrounding district trained at this level'

The Heartstart course includes skills such as:
* assessing an unconscious patient
* performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
* dealing with choking
* dealing with serious bleeding
* helping someone who may be having a heart attack

The 3-hour course (which includes a swift tea break) is delivered by a combination of DVD learning, discussion and practical 'hands-on' training. This involves floor work (kneeling, lying and rolling on the floor) so participants are advised to wear appropriate and comfortable clothing. Please also be prepared to work in socks or bare feet as 'The Studio' operates a 'no outdoor shoes' policy.

Although the training is provided free of charge, any donations to Tattenhall First Responders are gratefully received and used to support the continuing work of this valuable community asset.

The next training session

* This Saturday 12 December

Please contact Jill on 01829 771895 if you would like to book .
