Christmas at Gifford Lea

Residents at Gifford Lea retirement community, in Tattenhall, have gone all out this year, enjoying an array of socially-distanced festive activities to remember, from a mulled wine Christmas village tour to a carol singing performance.

The village team at Gifford Lea, which is which is operated by award-winning later living provider Inspired Villages, has demonstrated that Christmas doesn't have to be cancelled at the village this year, working with residents to create a timetable of festive celebrations to remember.

Throughout December, residents will enjoy an array of Christmas activities, including a carol singing performance, plus competitions for the best decorated balcony, terrace and tree, as well as the best Christmas meal.

The village team also arranged for two 23ft Christmas trees and 14 light up reindeers to be dotted around the grounds of the village, with residents enjoying a mulled wine tour around the village to look at the festive decorations.

Residents Catherine and Iain McIntosh said the beautiful display was "an unexpected pleasure, particularly after a couple of glasses of mulled wine", and a lovely way to round off their first year at Gifford Lea.
