Chester Post Office to Relocate

The latest publicity regarding the possible relocation of Chester's St John Street Post Office into the nearby WH Smith branch, is further evidence of concerns we raised in an article that we published just last week.

A spokesperson for the Post Office could not confirm when the relocation would take place but stated that any proposed changes will be subject to a public consultation where customers and local stakeholders' views would be sought (memories of all those 'consultations' that took place when our very own Post Office facility was moved to a counter service in SPAR and the reaction of locals which succeeded in its reinstatement back in Pluto House).

The Post Office state that the move is in response to 'unprecedented changes on High Streets and in consumer expectations,'.
