Vacancies on Cheshire Constabulary Ethics Panel for police transparency

Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire John Dwyer and Cheshire Constabulary Chief Constable Marks Roberts are seeking people to join the Independent Ethics Panel.

The Ethics Panel provides a forum for independent review of ethical issues in the police service to help inform the work of the Police and Crime Commissioner and Cheshire Constabulary; it also helps the ensure that the Constabulary acts with transparency to give wider reassurance to the public of Cheshire.

Cheshire Constabulary Chief Constable, Mark Roberts, said : "Effective Policing is vital for any community to feel secure and it is now more complex and fast moving than ever before. The work of the Ethics Panel is key to our approach to identify areas where we can improve and offer an independent perspective of what we do."

Topics that may be regularly reviewed by the panel include :
* Workforce statistics (diversity issues)
* Stop and search * Use of force
* Hate crime * Complaints
* Custody visiting statistics * Vetting
