Access to Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) is changing.
To continue using your local site, residents will need to register their vehicle once before their first visit.
What’s changing?
A new vehicle registration system is being introduced. This allows Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras to identify registered vehicles when they arrive on site.
Why is this being introduced?
The new system:
• Prevents unauthorised commercial use
• Ensures fair access for local residents
• Reduces queues and paperwork on arrival
What does registration include?
A one off registration per household
30 visits per year, automatically allocated
No paper permits
No ID or proof of address needed at the gate
Optional service updates, including emergency closures
Registration is a one off process for each household. Once registered, you will only need to update your details if you change your vehicle, or you move home. Each household can register up to three vehicles, including one commercial type vehicle.
