Chester's Grosvenor Museum announces its 13th Open Art Exhibition. This will present the best in contemporary art from the region, giving artists in the area a chance to show their work and providing a diverse and stimulating exhibition for the public.
A total of £1,850 will be awarded in prizes. The First Prize is £1,000, with a Second Prize of £500 and a Third Prize of £250. Visitors to the exhibition will also be able to vote for their favourite work, and the Visitors' Choice will win £100.
The exhibition will be opened by Helen Legg, Director, Tate Liverpool. It will be selected by Associate Professor Bernadine Murray, Head of Art & Design, University of Chester; John Whitehill, artist; and Peter Boughton, Keeper of Art, West Cheshire Museums.
The Grosvenor Museum's Open Art Exhibitions are always very popular. Last time 285 artists submitted work, and the exhibition was seen by 25,000 visitors.
Bringing in days are 26 and 27 April 2019. The exhibition will run from 10 May to 18 September.
