With New Year parties fast approaching, the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) is calling on all party-goers to drink responsibly during the New Year festivities and to call the Service only for life-threatening incidents.
NWAS Director of Operations, Derek Cartwright, is reminding everyone that ambulances are not mobile first aid providers and should NOT be treated as taxis.
He said: "Our ambulance crews are highly trained, skilled clinicians who provide life-saving and emergency medical care and should be treated as such'.
So, with New Year just around the corner and with many of us out celebrating with colleagues and friends, Derek Cartwright urges party-goers "to take some responsibility for their own safety during this very busy period'.
Be safe.
