Local Artistic Talent
You may have seen the poster published here regarding the local Art Show at Bickeron Village Hall.
Local artist, Sophie Hedgecoe, who grew up in Beeston, has been one of the artists exhibiting there. She has just won 'Best in Show' voted by those who viewed the exhibition.
She may be remembered as the girl who used to win all the prizes in the Children's section of the Tattenhall Annual Show some years ago! So clearly a winning talent!
Sophie had not painted for over 15 years when she became a student at the Cheshire Art Hub in Burwardsley last May. It is as a result of her going to the classes run by Loren and Dan at the Art Hub that her enthusiasm has been renewed and her capability developed.
As well as receiving this recognition, her association with the Art Hub and the support from Loren and the team, has also led to her having a really successful secondary business selling her art. Both paintings of her Lions sold and it was the male who won best picture.
This was the most successful exhibition at the Bickerton Art show to date with over 800 people attending and 131 paintings sold. Over 500 paintings plus prints and cards were included in the show, all from local artists.
