After a well-earned Xmas break it was back with a bang for Tattenhall's young footballer, Ben Woodburn who scored twice & created the other for Liverpool U18s in a 3-0 victory over arch rivals, Manchester United on 9th Jan. After a fine-tuning training session with Tattenhall Vets, this was a great start to 2016 for Ben & his teammates who now look forward to an FA Youth Cup 4th round tie against Cardiff on Thurs 14th Jan. This will be Ben's second appearance in the Youth Cup, with kick off 7pm at Langtree Park Stadium, St Helens.
After a 14 match unbeaten run pre Xmas, Liverpool are now 2nd in the northern section of the Premier League's under18 league, & look well set for the final stages which will see them up against the best of the south in the second half of the season. Ben also hopes to be part of the Wales under17 squad who successfully qualified for the final stages of the Uefa under17 championship in March which sees Wales up against Portugal, Sweden & Croatia. If their Youth Cup run continues on Thursday it promises to be an exciting few months for the youngster....
