Be part of a special event as HRH The Princess Royal and HMS Albion ship's company visit Chester

Chester will once again welcome the crowds in September as HRH The Princess Royal inspects the ship's company of HMS Albion in the city's Town Hall Square.

Taking place on Sunday, 29 September, the day will see the company of HMS Albion exercise their Freedom of the City of Chester by marching through the streets. Their sponsor HRH The Princess Royal will take the salute before inspecting the company outside the Town Hall.

A plaque to celebrate the Town Hall's 150th birthday will then be unveiled by the Princess Royal with the Lord Mayor of Chester before she attends a special celebration event at Chester Cathedral, hosted by the Commanding Officer of HMS Albion.

West Cheshire residents are being offered the opportunity to take part in the special day with 100 free places available at the celebration event in Chester Cathedral.

When applying for tickets, both applicants are asked to provide the following mandatory information:-
Full name
Main residential address, including postcode
Contact Telephone number
Date of Birth
Place of birth
Email address
Passport or Driving Licence number

The deadline for applications is midnight on Sunday, 1 September. The service will take place during the afternoon and successful applicants will be notified by email in mid-September of the arrangements. Unsuccessful applicants will not be notified.

Successful applicants will each receive two tickets which will not be transferable.

The ballot is open to those who are resident in England (including the Channel Isles and the Isle of Man) Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland.

Tickets will be sent electronically as e-tickets to the email address provided during application. On the day, all successful applicants will be asked to bring their e-ticket with them (on a mobile device or paper copy) along with two separate forms of valid identification; one of which must be photographic (either a passport or photo driving licence) and one of which must confirm current home address.
