The Lakesiders had scored twice in the second half and looked to be going through by virtue of their away goal in Luxembourg; but it wasn't to be and the Rob Pearson fan club returned to Tattenhall late last night reflecting on how close they had come to a second European venture — to the shores of the Black Sea.
