Our happy concert-goer writes ....
"Tattenhall Music Society yet again came up trumps with a splendid concert on Sunday at the Parish Church, as part of the winter season of music in our community.
Sophie Rosa, a Cheshire-based violinist, making her first appearance in Tattenhall, was accompanied by pianist Ian Buckle, who has played for TMS before. They performed a varied programme. Having started with Schubert, progressed through Elgar and Brahms, they then ventured into a short modern piece by Beat Furrer, new to everyone present, and ended with a couple of well-known Gershwin songs, adapted for violin and piano.
A stimulating event, enjoyed by a sizeable audience from across the rural area. Part of the pleasure of these concerts is the long, 'drinks' interval, where the audience has the chance to meet up with friends and fellow music lovers.
And to hear high quality playing, close to home, is another major benefit of turning out on a chilly winter's evening."
