Tattenhall and Hoylake based Illingworth Seddon Chartered Financial Planners have raised a fantastic amount at their fourth annual golf day, with £14,000 going to their chosen charities.

Over 60 golfers enjoyed an ferociously hot day on Friday 6th July at Macdonald Portal Hotel and Spa, and the brilliant conditions lead to some impressive scoring from the field made up of the company's clients and contacts.

The competition mainly consisted of local Cheshire companies such as Porsche Centre Chester, Ellis & Co Accountants and Cheshire Farm Ice Cream. It was also the first year that Illingworth Seddon entered their own team, with directors Phil Illingworth and Jonathan Seddon being joined by two guests who turned out to have the magic touch on the day, as they stormed home to win the tournament by 3 shots.

Jonathan Seddon said 'The main aim of the day was to raise a fantastic amount for the chosen charities, Claire House Hospice and the St James' Place Foundation. Every single penny that was generated from the event including team entry fees, mulligans, beat the pro, hole sponsorship, donations during dinner and a very well supported charity auction, went straight into the final total which will go direct to the deserving charities.'

The culmination of this generosity resulted in an incredible £7000 of fundraising.

Illingworth Seddon are a partner practice of St James' Place Wealth Management, who very generously double the amount of money raised by any of their partner practices' throughout the year. This means that with the matching donations, the grand total raised for charity from the Illingworth Seddon Charity Golf Day is a huge £14,000.

Director Phil Illingworth added: 'This money will go some way to aiding the incredible work that these charities do on a daily basis, but we are always keen to help more. So we are already putting plans in place for an even bigger and better golf day in 2019 to continue our support, and hopefully reach a new record as we have done in each of the last 4 years.'
