A Right Royal Privilege?

Coronation Day

Many families, groups, and communities will be watching the Coronation today, and taking part in local celebrations.

However many are not bothered, and wonder why all the fuss.

Well, whatever your point of view – here is some 'food for thought':

• our country lets people hold opinions that are markedly different;
• and gives freedom of speech where all views can be heard;
• countless other freedoms too, not experienced in many countries of the world;
• the UK has an amazing record and ability at organising and presenting huge stately events;
• and we're good at celebrating landmark occasions.

Of course – there are still issues and prejudices to work on, and progress to be made,
but today is a Right Royal day: let's enjoy what we do have – and take none of it for granted.
