DOG WALKING ON THE FLACCA
The Flacca has NO public footpaths and not open to the general public. We welcome dog walkers who wish to use the Flacca to become Club members (a real bargain at only £14pa) and enjoy our grounds and facilities, which are operated on a not-for-profit basis.
However, the dog fouling left by a small number of people is putting at risk sports for our children, for our members and for teams representing our village. PLEASE keep your dog on a lead when at the Flacca, stick to walking around the perimeter hedge, and bag any dog poo.
Sadly, we have even had recent incidents by repeat offenders where Club officials have been verbally abused and physically threatened for asking that dogs are put on leads and signage is not vandalised. These incidents have been reported to the council and police and appropriate action is being taken.
Please keep our children safe playing sport, treat our volunteer officials respectfully and allow those dog walkers that do respect the facilities to continue to do so. The last thing we wish to do is prohibit dogs from the facilities – but the welfare of our sports must be prioritised.
Thank you for your understanding.
