Tattenhall CC's 1st XI made the short journey to league leaders, Kingsley Cricket Club, for the final game of the season. Kingsley needed a victory to clinch the title, won the toss and asked Tattenhall to bat.
Without Sadler, Cooke and Fearnall , the Tattenhall batting struggled against an accurate Kingsley attack and slumped to 60 for 6. Remaining firm throughout was skipper, Sandford, who having opened the innings was the last man out for a fine 59. Tattenhall finishing on 110.
The Kingsley innings followed a similar theme and they were quickly reduced to 40 for 6 thanks to fine opening spells from Waddilove ( 4 wickets ) and Brock (2). There is almost always resistance at some stage of a batting innings and a seventh wicket stand took the score to 70, giving the Kingsley team some hope.
However Ethan Evan then produced a fine spell of quick bowling , taking 3 wickets and Cheshire wrapped up the final wicket with an excellent catch in the deep by Mobbs , and spoiling the Kingsley party much to the delight of the jubilant Tattenhall team.
Kingsley finished on 95 all out.
