Over the last few weeks St Alban's has been running an informal "pop up" Foodbank, but it was clear that the level of need in the village and local area required a more formal, substantial and sustainable initiative. Consequently, Tattenhall now has its own Foodbank hub supporting our community and the immediate environs. This is being run at a local level by Tattenhall Park Primary in partnership with St Alban's Church as we come together to look after each other in times of greatest need. The project will be an outreach of the West Cheshire Foodbank, which in turn is part of the National charity, The Trussell Trust.

Nobody in our community should have to face going hungry and the aim is to provide three days emergency food topped up with any available extra donations for any local people who are in crisis.
The West Cheshire Foodbank is part of a national network of food banks supported by The Trussell Trust. The Trust works to combat poverty across the UK, although The West Cheshire Foodbank operates as a local charity.

Needing Help
If you need help and want to access a food box there are a few simple steps to follow. You will need a referral and you can get this through a number of different contact routes:
The Cheshire West and Chester help scheme: 03001237065
The West Cheshire Foodbank: 01513557730
Cheshire West Citizens Advice: 03445766111
Or contact the Tattenhall Foodbank directly: 01244981260 or by email to Tattenhall@westcheshire.foodbank.org.uk
Under our present circumstances, once the referral has come through we can deliver requests directly.

Making Donations
A big thank you to everyone who is already donating at a national, village and local level. You can continue to donate food to the main distribution hub through the local collection point – tinned and dry foods are best: or you can donate for local distribution by leaving goods in St Alban's Church porch or at Tattenhall Park Primary School. We are aiming to supplement the basics with household cleaning products, toiletries and any extra food that has been directly donated. We also hope to add some fresh produce by buying locally as the referrals come in and funds from local fundraising allows.
