Cheshire Police

The following is an update on the Government Announcement Regarding PCC Role from Dan Price, our Police & Crime Commisioner:

You may have seen last week’s announcement from the Minister of State for Policing and Crime. As part of the forthcoming Police Reform White Paper, the Government intends to remove the current Police and Crime Commissioner model when existing terms end in May 2028.I want to reassure you that, for Cheshire, it is very much business as usual until that point.

My office remains fully committed to working with the Chief Constable to deliver an effective, efficient police service for our communities. Our commissioned services will continue to be funded, and the innovative projects we have planned will move forward at pace. The detail of what will replace this is not yet clear. What is clear is my commitment: I will continue to serve with the same energy and focus as I have from day one, ensuring my office delivers for Cheshire throughout this period. In time, we will have the opportunity to shape a new governance model together, but until then, our priority remains the safety and wellbeing of all our communities.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or my Chief Executive (damon.taylor@cheshire-pcc.gov.uk)

Best regards,

Dan Price, Police & Crime Commissioner
