Police and Crime Commissioner for Cheshire, John Dwyer, isthanking residents for their response to his recent survey on refreshing the county's Police and Crime Plan.

Over 1,200 people had their say on the Commissioner's proposed refresh of the Plan which sets out the priorities on which the Constabulary should deliver for the public. The six key priorities in the Plan are:
* Prevent and tackle crime
* Make Cheshire's roads safer
* Deliver justice for victims of crime
* Protect vulnerable and at-risk people
* Improve public confidence in policing
* Modernise our police service

Residents were asked for their views on key issues in the Plan and any areas of policing and crime which they felt needed a particular focus in the years to come.

The Commissioner will review the feedback and comments received through his survey and produce a further draft of the refreshed Police and Crime Plan, which will be discussed at the next meeting of the Cheshire Police and Crime Panel. Following this, the final Plan will be published.
"This Plan sets the strategic direction for the Constabulary and so it is the basis for delivering the effective and efficient police service that the public expects.
