Bog snorkelling is a sporting event that consists of competitors completing two consecutive lengths of a water-filled trench or stream in the shortest time possible.
Sunday 28th August 2016 sees the 31st World Bog Snorkelling Championships, held annually in Llanwrtyd Wells. Hundreds of participants from around the world and plenty of spectators are expected once again.
Due to the popularity of this event, a series of qualifying rounds is to be held on water courses in England and Wales and our very own Tattenhall Wildlife Group will be hosting an event on the Mill Brook in early May.
Preparations for the event are already well underway and go hand-in-hand with the restoration work currently being undertaken at the Mill Brook; the water filled trench can be clearly seen in the second image (click on both images to enlarge).
So, if you don't mind a little mud but you enjoy lots of fun and laughter, then please CLICK HERE to submit your name and email address to the Webteam and we will advise of the day's schedule. In the Message box on the Contact Us form, please enter "Bog Snorkelling". The closing date for entries is 14 April 2016.
All participants will require a wet suit, flippers and a snorkel.
