Bike Right in Cheshire West & Chester

We are extremely fortunate in this area to have a wealth of cycle routes, both on traffic free routes or quiet country roads. Local children will have probably completed their Cycling proficiency in school, but did you know you can get training for the whole family through CWAC (Cheshire West & Chester)?

BikeRight! are the cycle training partner for Cheshire West and Chester and are providing Bikeability training in the borough’s schools as well as family and adult cycle skills sessions exclusively for Cheshire residents.

FREE Family cycling courses

Get tailored training for you and your family at a level suited to your needs, split in to easy to understand modules

Basic for beginners - cycling off the road to build skills in local parks or on cycle tracks aimed at leisure cycling.

Intermediate - boost your confidence riding on quiet local roads in a group of differing abilities.

Advanced - busy roads and complex junctions require more advanced skills and knowledge when riding as a group.

Courses are available small family groups of max 6 people (at least one adult and one child under 16) with an instructor at a time and location to suit your needs.

Traffic-free routes

Canal Pathway

An approximate 15km/10 mile journey along the Shropshire Union Canal towpath from Waverton to Ellesmere Port. The paths are all flat except for a short hill leading to the Northgate Locks in the heart of Chester. The canal towpath can at times become narrow and you will have to negotiate some low bridges, so it’s not suitable for bikes towing trailers.

Railway Path/Chester Greenway

The Greenway starts in Mickle Trafford and ends in Deeside. This route utilises the track bed of the disused railway line, the path which is part of the National Cycle Network route 5, was constructed in 2000 and is also known as the Millennium Grenway, and extends past Kingsway and onto Mickle Trafford
