There will now be a direct service from Chester to Leeds on Sundays thanks to Northern's new summer timetable, which comes into effect from 21st May 2023.
The first service from Chester is 9.25am arriving in Leeds at 11.36am. The service will operate hourly at 25 minutes past the hour until the final departure at 8.25pm, arriving in Leeds at 10.38pm.
Return service departs Leeds station at 9.43am, arriving in Chester at 12.08pm, then hourly at 43 minutes past the hour until a final departure at 7.44pm, arriving back in Chester at 10.08pm.
The regional director for Northern Rail, Chris Jackson said: "We're pleased to be able to offer this new service, making it easier than ever for the people of Chester to visit Leeds and the surrounding West Yorkshire. With more than 2,700 seats available in each direction, we hope this service proves popular with day trippers, who can leave the car on the drive and let the train take the strain."
Note:The timetable changes that commence on 21st May leave the majority of other services on the network as they were before, but anyone making regular trips on the network are advised to use the 'Check My Timetable' feature on Northern's website to confirm details for specific journeys.
