I challenge anyone not to have noticed the spectacular refit of the 'Well Pharmacy' on Tattenhall High Street.

With just the 'snagging' to complete, our Pharmacist Brendan Nyss, together with Vince and Helen, thank you for your patience, understanding and co-operation during these major alterations.

The 'Well Pharmacy' group has 800 shops nationally and, Tattenhall, as a key service centre, was 1 of only 9 shops selected for a major refit (our thanks to the Area Manager 'Mandy' for supporting us in this).

Serving both the immediate village and with a much wider patient footprint, Brendan is keen to develop an approachable and on-going bond with his patients and customers.

The refit will allow the team to not only widen their portfolio but to offer greater clinical expertise. Brendan's team, together with the advice of our Patient Participation Group (PPG), seeks to signpost you in exactly the right direction.

The 'Health Promotion Zone' within the Pharmacy provides a multiplicity of health facts and Brendan is always on hand to offer expert healthcare advice and treatment for minor ailments and complaints, whilst also advising whether you need to see a GP or visit A&E.

Electronic prescription services, private consultations, repeat prescriptions and free delivery are all available. 'Mike' the designated 'Well Pharmacy' driver, delivers prescriptions on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and is fondly regarded by all who know him. Living in a rural community, and particularly for those with mobility issues, can be very isolating.

Brendan is working toward annual medicine-use reviews, as well as a 'Handy Hint' campaign ensuring that individuals are using their medication accurately. Avoiding negative and unnecessary side effects is a priority for Brendan. He is also keen to continue with the flu jab campaign this coming autumn and is seeking to develop a travel vaccination programme for the future.

The 'Well Pharmacy' is open from 9.00am-6.30pm on Monday-Friday and from 9.00am-1.00pm on Saturdays.

Brendan will be hosting a 'drop-in' evening in September (with Fizz and Nibbles) as a 'soft launch' to promote this fantastically improved service within the village and to ensure that everyone is more than familiar with the skills that local Pharmacists can offer, not least our own – 'there for the community' ....
