Thursday's U3A Walk – 22 February

Here are the details of our next longer walk being led by Keith and Diane. They have thankfully managed to find a mud free walk, no mean feat at the moment!

Parkgate:

This is a nice flat circular walk of approx 5 miles, taking 2hrs at a steady pace. Soft terrain, with neither mud, stiles nor cattle.

The walk starts at the Wirral Country Park car park at the north end of the Parkgate. On leaving the car park we hug the shoreline and follow a lane with a gentle rise to Lower Heswall. After crossing Heswall Golf Course we follow the Wirral Way South to the Southern end of Parkgate returning to the car park along the front. There are no facilities en-route.

Our route to Parkgate is up the A41 past Chester turning left onto the A5117 and then taking the Chester High Road A540. Turn left at the Hinterton Arms crossroads for Neston. In Neston turn right at the lights and then left signposted for Parkgate. Follow the road to the front and go to the end where you will find the Boathouse pub, drive past its front door and continue to the large Wirral Country Park car park.

Distance from Tattenhall is approx 22 miles and we suggest meeting behind Alison's to leave at 9:30 for a 10:15am start from the Wirral Country Park car park.
